Kerala Piravi literally means the birth of Kerala. Kerala Piravi is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Kerala as an independent State in the Republic of India on November 1st,1956. Prior to this unification, Kerala was divided into three independent provinces of Malabar, Cochin, and Travancore. On this special day, people in the state dress traditionally, with women donning kasavu sarees and men sporting mundus. Cultural events are conducted to celebrate this day. All SKIPS centres celebrated Kerala Piravi with great excitement. All our Samites were dressed in traditional Kerala attires. The kids took part in all the cultural activities. It was indeed a lovely sight to see our little Samites enjoying the day and gaining insights about the culture and history of their motherland.
