Diwali, the festival of lights, is celebrated in the memory of Lord Rama who returned to Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile. Diwali is a festival of new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness. During this festival, people do colorful rangoli artworks on floors and light up houses with Diyas to welcome Goddess Lakshmi.
SKIPS arranged a special live session on October 30th Saturday for our little samites to celebrate Diwali. As part of the celebration, teachers explained the story behind Diwali and children made colorful paper diyas. The dance party was the highlight of the celebration.
