“Children are made readers on the laps of their parents”.
June 19th is celebrated as the National Reading Day in India in honor of P N Panicker, the father of the Library and Literacy Movement in Kerala. When children read, they develop higher-order thinking skills and also develop a love for reading and learning. Reading helps them to feel more optimistic, and sparks their imagination and creativity.
On 23rd June 2021, SKIPS celebrated reading day during the online sessions. All classes had story time where stories were narrated by teachers to the kids. Our little Samites listened to the stories with great excitement. This was a small effort by our teachers to develop reading habits in our little Samites.
