Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha to commemorate the unwavering devotion of prophet Ibrahim to God almighty. According to Islamic scriptures,Prophet Ibrahim received a divine command in a dream to sacrifice his beloved son,Ismail,as a test of his faith. As Ibrahim prepared to carry out the sacrifice, God intervened and provided a ram to be sacrificed instead, signifying Ibrahim's devotion and submission to God's will. The essence of Eid-Ul-Adha lies in understanding the value of sacrifice and the importance of helping others. It teaches Muslims to empathize with the hardships faced by others and to prioritize the needs of the less fortunate over their own desires. The Eid celebrations were organized in all SKIPS centers bringing in a festive vibe. All Samites were dressed in traditional attires and the classrooms and assembly areas were decorated to add to the festive mood. Samites eagerly participated in various cultural activities like oppana and mappila songs. Craft activities included making Eid lanterns and decor items. Delicious kheer was served as part of the celebration. All our Samites exchanged Eid greetings and enjoyed the day.
