Dussehra is one of the major Hindu festivals that marks the end of Navratri. The festival is celebrated as the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana. It also celebrates the triumph of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura. In many places, the effigies of Ravana are burned on this day to signify the destruction of evil, along with fireworks. SKIPS centres celebrated Dusshera on 6th October. The children were dressed in traditional attires. The teachers narrated the story behind Dusshera and how it represents the victory of Good over Evil. Our little Samites also enjoyed the craft works related to Dusshera. A Dandiya dance was also organized as part of the celebration.
