Field trips enrich and expand the curriculum, strengthen observation skills by immersing children into sensory activities, increase children's knowledge in a particular subject area and expand children's awareness of their own community. A field trip is one of the best tools that we can use to provide every student with real-world experiences. When students leave the classroom, they see the connections between what is happening at school and in the ‘real-world’. They begin to see that what they learn within the walls of the classroom can help them solve the problems they see in the world around them and can have a direct impact on who they become as adults. The term 1 field trip for Samites was based on community helpers. A visit to the police station was organized during the second week of August. Our Samites developed understanding about the role of police in our society, how does a police station function etc. They enjoyed interacting with the police officers. The police officers were very cooperative and patiently explained things to our little Samites. The field trip was a great learning experience for the kids and also a memorable day for them.
