National Doctor's Day in India was first celebrated on July 1st, 1991, to honor Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy for his significant contribution to Healthcare. Dr Roy was a prominent physician, educator, freedom fighter, social worker, and politician. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honor, on February 4th 1961, for his dedication to the welfare of the people. Notably, he served as the personal physician to Mahatma Gandhi. All SKIPS centers celebrated Doctor’s day on July 1st 2024. Samites were educated about the vital role of doctors in society. The children were actively engaged in various activities, including role- playing and creating stethoscopes. Many students dressed as doctors , while teachers explained the components of a doctor kit, which the children received with great enthusiasm. The activities helped Samites to understand the importance and role of a doctor in the society.
